What it is

Practical physiotherapy built around real life, not just exercises

Our physiotherapy service supports children, adults and older adults to move better, hurt less and stay independent. A lot of the work happens in people's homes, where the goals actually need to land, with clinic sessions available at Hawthorn.

Our physiotherapist is AHPRA-registered, with interests across musculoskeletal physiotherapy and women's health: pain, injury, post-surgical rehabilitation, pelvic health, and pregnancy and post-partum support.

With older clients, the focus is often falls prevention, balance and strength, the practical in-home work that keeps someone confident on their feet at home. With younger clients, physio works alongside our OT and behaviour support teams where physical, sensory and regulation layers overlap.

Common questions

Physiotherapy FAQs
Do you come to my home?

Yes. A large part of our physiotherapy work happens in clients' homes across greater Melbourne and Ballarat, especially for older adults, post-surgical clients and NDIS participants. Mobile fees and travel are quoted up front.

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

Not for private sessions. If you're using a Medicare Chronic Disease Management plan or DVA, you'll need a referral from your GP. For NDIS, no GP referral is required, though we'll ask for relevant background information.

Can physiotherapy help prevent falls?

Yes. Falls prevention is a big part of our work with older adults: balance, strength and practical in-home changes that help someone stay confident on their feet. We often coordinate with our OTs on home safety at the same time.

Is physiotherapy covered by NDIS?

In many cases, yes, where it's appropriate for the participant's goals. It's usually billed under Improved Daily Living or Improved Health & Wellbeing. Support coordinators are welcome to call to check fit before booking.
