What it is

Nutrition support that works in small, sustainable steps

Our dietetics service focuses on the people standard nutrition advice often misses: children with significant food selectivity, NDIS participants with complex needs, older adults losing weight, and families trying to keep a child safely eating while everyone is exhausted.

Our Accredited Practising Dietitian works in a weight-inclusive, family-aware way, in small, sustainable steps rather than overhauling a household's eating overnight. When food selectivity sits on top of sensory, regulation or oral-motor issues, she works closely with our speech pathology and OT teams.

The scope spans paediatrics and adults: ARFID and fussy eating, aged care and Support at Home nutrition, diabetes, gut conditions, malnutrition risk and mealtime management in disability.

Common questions

Dietetics FAQs
What is an Accredited Practising Dietitian?

An Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) is a university-qualified nutrition professional credentialed by Dietitians Australia. APD is the credential Medicare, NDIS and most funders recognise for dietetics.

Do you help with ARFID and severe fussy eating?

Yes. ARFID and food selectivity are a particular focus. Where sensory, regulation or oral-motor issues are part of the picture, we work alongside our speech pathology and OT teams so the support is joined up.

Can you do home visits for an older relative?

Yes. A lot of aged care nutrition work happens in the home, especially when someone is losing weight and the family isn't sure why. We do mobile visits across greater Melbourne and telehealth more broadly.

Is dietetics covered by NDIS?

In many cases, yes, where it's appropriate for the participant's goals. It's usually billed under Improved Daily Living or Improved Health & Wellbeing. Support coordinators are welcome to call to check fit before booking.
