What we offer

Inside psychology
01

Child psychology

Therapy and assessment for primary-aged children dealing with anxiety, low mood, school refusal, behaviour and regulation.

  • Calmer mornings and fewer school drop-off meltdowns
  • Sleep through the night without the worry spiral
  • Tools the whole family can use, not just the child
  • Clear diagnostic clarity where it helps with school or NDIS
02

Adolescent psychology

Confidential, neuro-affirming therapy for teens managing anxiety, low mood, identity, self-esteem, trauma or school stress.

  • A trusted adult outside the family who actually listens
  • Strategies for friendship and school stress that work in real life
  • Better sleep, fewer panic spirals before exams or assessments
  • Parents kept in the loop in a way that respects the teen
03

Adult psychology

Evidence-based therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment, neurodivergent identity and burnout.

  • Get back to work, study or parenting without running on empty
  • Understand patterns that have been hard to shift on your own
  • Manage panic, low mood or trauma responses with practical skills
  • Move forward after a diagnosis, loss or major life change
04

Aged care psychology

Respectful, gentle psychological support for older Australians, including memory concerns, grief, loneliness and life transitions.

  • Therapy at home so attendance isn't a barrier
  • Cognitive screening that informs care planning
  • Family included where the person wants them included
  • Less distress around big changes like moving into residential care
05

Cognitive assessments

Standardised cognitive testing for diagnostic clarity, school planning, NDIS evidence or capacity questions.

  • Clear written report you can hand to the school or NDIS
  • Recommendations written in plain English
  • Confidence that the diagnosis (or non-diagnosis) is well evidenced
  • Next-step pathway, not just a result
06

NDIS Clinical Psychology Assessments

Assessment-only pathway for NDIS access, plan reviews and psychosocial disability evidence. No therapy commitment required.

  • Functional evidence the NDIA can actually use
  • Faster turnaround on plan reviews and access requests
  • Diagnostic clarity for participants and support coordinators
  • Recommendations aligned to NDIS plan categories

What it is

Clinical psychology that fits real life

Psychology at Constellation covers the full spectrum: emotional and behavioural support for kids, mental health therapy for teens and adults, cognitive and psychological assessment, and respectful support for older Australians living with dementia, grief or adjustment.

Our clinical psychologists are AHPRA-registered, and our provisional psychologists work under senior clinician oversight. We're neuro-affirming and trauma-informed, which means we treat behaviour as communication and we move at your pace.

Sessions can run in our Gympie or Hawthorn clinics, in your home, at school or via telehealth. Where it helps, we'll involve parents, partners, support coordinators or aged care staff so progress is shared across the constellation around you.

Common questions

Psychology FAQs
How much does psychology cost on NDIS?

Psychology under NDIS is billed at the published NDIS Pricing Arrangements rate for Improved Daily Living. There's no out-of-pocket cost for self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed participants when sessions are within plan budgets. We'll quote in writing before we start so support coordinators and plan managers can sign off.

Do I need a GP referral to see a psychologist?

Not for NDIS, DVA or private. You only need a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP if you want to claim a Medicare rebate. For most of our clients on NDIS or aged care funding, you can book directly through our intake form.

What's the difference between a clinical psychologist and a provisional psychologist?

Clinical psychologists hold an endorsement in clinical psychology and have completed additional postgraduate training. Provisional psychologists are working towards full registration under senior clinician supervision. Both are AHPRA-registered. Provisional sessions are typically a lower rate and can be a great fit for ongoing therapy.

Can a psychologist write reports for NDIS?

Yes. Our psychologists write functional reports for NDIS access requests, plan reviews and changing support needs. We focus on functional evidence the NDIA can use rather than diagnostic labels alone. Most reports include clear recommendations mapped to NDIS plan categories.

Can I see a psychologist at home or via telehealth?

Yes to both. We do mobile psychology visits across greater Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin and SE Queensland, and telehealth anywhere in Australia where it's clinically appropriate. Some assessments need to be done face-to-face, and we'll be upfront about that at intake.

How long does a psychology assessment take?

A standalone NDIS Clinical Psychology Assessment usually takes two to three sessions plus report writing, with the written report turned around within a few weeks. Cognitive assessments are typically one longer session plus report. We'll give you a clear timeframe and quote before booking.

Are your psychologists neuro-affirming?

Yes. We approach autism, ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence as identity, not pathology. That shapes everything from how we run sessions to how we write reports and recommendations.
