About Lei
Lei is Constellation's NSW-based speech pathologist, and a clinician whose path into the profession quietly shapes how she works. Before retraining as a speech pathologist, she spent years teaching English in primary school classrooms, which is exactly the right background for a job that often means engaging a wriggly 6-year-old over a slightly laggy telehealth screen.
She holds a Master of Speech Language Pathology and works in both English and Mandarin. Bilingual sessions matter for the families she sees: children who are growing up between two languages don't always present neatly on monolingual assessments, and parents who are trying to think through a child's communication needs in their second language deserve a clinician who can switch into their first.
A real strength of Lei's practice is engaging telehealth, particularly for children in rural and regional NSW. A lot of her caseload sits in towns where there is no local paediatric speech pathologist at all, and where families would otherwise be on multi-year waitlists or facing several hours of travel. Lei runs these sessions with the same warmth, structure and playfulness she would bring to an in-person session, which is harder than it sounds.
Her work is openly neurodiversity-affirming. She is comfortable working with autistic kids, AAC users, gestalt language processors and children whose communication styles look different from textbook expectations. She partners with parents rather than handing them homework, and she keeps her recommendations realistic for busy rural and regional families.
Common reasons families come to Lei include speech sound delays, language and literacy support, social communication, Mandarin and bilingual support, and telehealth speech therapy for rural NSW families.
Lei is neurodiversity-affirming, playful and culturally aware. She brings an educator's instinct for engagement into her sessions and treats parents as long-term collaborators, not session observers.

Working with Lei
Can Lei run sessions in Mandarin?
Yes. Lei is comfortable working in Mandarin or English, and can move between the two within a session if that supports the child and family. Mention your preferred language when you book in.
Is telehealth speech therapy as good as in-person?
For many children, yes. Telehealth works particularly well for school-aged kids and language and literacy work. Lei will be honest with you upfront if a particular goal would be better served by in-person sessions.
